Running for Member, Arlington County Board
Less Talk. More Listen.
I’m Bob Cambridge, and I’m running for the Arlington County Board because this community means everything to me. I’ve lived here for over 40 years. I’ve raised a family here with my wife of 51 years, Mary. Together, we’ve seen Arlington change, sometimes for the better, but more recently in ways that are raising serious concerns. I don’t expect elected officials to be perfect, but I do believe leaders should recognize when policies aren’t working and have the courage to change course. I’m stepping forward because I see the warning signs, and I won’t sit back while my home and my neighbors face the consequences.
I spent the first part of my career at the CIA, teaching analysts how to use statistics and computers to solve real-world intelligence problems. After earning my law degree, I worked as General Counsel for major defense contractors and later opened my own law practice focused on government contracts. I also spent years doing criminal and mental health defense, in part because of my daughter’s experience in that system. I know what it means to fight for people who don’t always have a voice, and I’ve built a life helping others navigate complicated and often unfair systems.
I’m running for this seat because Arlington needs a more independent voice on the Board. For too long, the same political group has made decisions without enough input from the people those decisions affect. That’s not how a healthy government works. I believe in common sense, honest debate, and making sure everyone is heard.
